Wonders of the Small Church

The small church has incredible importance and value, although it may not carry the pomp of churches in Europe and elsewhere. I have one particular small church in mind: ours.

Holy Trinity participated in Scouts Sunday on February 2, 2014, an annual commemoration which recognizes over 100 years of scouting for both boys and girls.

Our parish family is blessed to have so many involved in the Scouting Program. We count over a dozen who are involved in several different levels. Bonnie Morrison spoke on behalf of all the Girl Scouts and Brownies in attendance, and the leadership and Christian virtues scouting advances. Patrick Dolan who will be earning his Eagle Scout Award in several  months represented all Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. Patrick spoke with great clarity and passion regarding his seven years in Scouting. He pointed out he enjoys being a leader where so many others are dependent upon him. If any Scout does not carry on with their responsibilities, then all others suffer.

Although Patrick noted his has just four additional months until this chapter of his scouting involvement ends, he does plan on remaining active in the years ahead. In completion of his Eagle Scout Project, Patrick designed and constructed a new church sign for the outside of our church. The project was completed in October, 2013, and blessed by His Eminence, Archbishop NIKON.
