Saint Mary of Magdala

Saint Mary of Magdela is far more than just one of the Myrrhbearing Women the church remembers on the Third Sunday of Pascha; her life is of such great magnitude that it is referred to as the Primacy of Mary. That Mary of Magdala is venerated in the Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Lutheran, several Protestant churches, and even in the Baha’i Faith tradition, speaks of her prominence.

The Windham Area Interfaith Ministry’s Annual Walk for Warmth will take place November 24, 2013, and begin with an Interfaith Thanksgiving Service at 2:15pm at the First Congregational Church, 199 Valley Street, Willimantic. Proceeds benefit WAIM’s Emergency Energy Assistance Program. The Thanksgiving Service will be followed by an enjoyable two mile walk through Willimantic.

Walkers then return to First Congregational for refreshments and some musical entertainment. The suggested donation per walker or family is $20. HTOC will make a donation of $100 which will cover any person or family who wants to walk that day.
