Wonders of the Small Church

The small church has incredible importance and value, although it may not carry the pomp of churches in Europe and elsewhere. I have one particular small church in mind: ours.

On July 1, 2023, the Holy Trinity crew made their long awaited and anticipated return to the Covenant Soup Kitchen. This was the first full service Holy Trinity has been able to participate in since the covid lockdowns, which began in 2020. Additionally, 2023 marks 10 year anniversary of Holy Trinity's relationship with Covenant.

The meal service was staffed by a team of 7 people including, Fr Marc Vranes, David Menezes, Rebecca Berner, Alex Fetzko, Timothy Fetzko and making his first soup kitchen appearance was 8 year old Johnny Fetzko. We were also happy to welcome Rebecca's close friend Miranda to the team.

First we prepared nearly 100 PB&J sandwiches in advance for Sunday's brown bag lunch. New kitchen manager Kevin Flanigan led the preparation of the main meal service which included beef tenderloin, roasted potatoes, green beans with mushroom, dinner roll, garden salad, fruit salad, dessert and beverage.

In all, 60 luncheon trays and an additional 55 to-go packages, for a total of 115 meals, were delivered!

Holy Trinity returns to Covenant on Saturday, August 5th for the next meal service. Additional dates will be reserved through the remainder of 2023. Volunteers are welcome. Please reach out to Tim Fetzko (htoc.webmaster@cox.net) with any questions or if you would like to reserve a spot for an upcoming date.
