The Holy Trinity community celebrated Forgiveness Vespers at the conclusion of Divine Liturgy on Sunday, March 2, 2014, then all those present participated in the Rite of Forgiveness. Nearly everyone who was at Liturgy, stayed for Vespers, including many children, teens, and young adults.
Prior to Vespers, Holy Trinity pastor, V. Rev. Marc Vranes, read a reflection offered by Archpriest Michael Koblosh from All Saints of North America Orthodox Mission in Alexandria, Virginia. As he always does, Fr Michael spoke with sensitivity and clarity concerning love and forgiveness, essential components to build holy friendships and a holy community.
Today also marked the rite of passage for Juliana Carmon, 7, who participated in the Sacrament of Holy Confession for the first time. Juliana had gone through instruction the past several months, and was readily prepared for this significant step in her young life. Along with her mother, Christina, young Juliana held the communion cloth during the distribution of the Holy Eucharist.
