Saint Mary of Magdala

Saint Mary of Magdela is far more than just one of the Myrrhbearing Women the church remembers on the Third Sunday of Pascha; her life is of such great magnitude that it is referred to as the Primacy of Mary. That Mary of Magdala is venerated in the Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Lutheran, several Protestant churches, and even in the Baha’i Faith tradition, speaks of her prominence.

A new roof at HTOC was installed the week before Christmas. The job began Monday and was finished Thursday. A photo of men working on the roof was carried on the front page of Wednesday’s Willimantic Chronicle; it is posted downstairs. Two men in particular played a significant role in having the roof installed: Mr Mike Kolesinsky of Willimantic who presented a gift to HTOC last year, which was designated for a new roof; and Mr Gregory Zlotnick, and Zlotnick Construction Co., of Mansfield Center. Greg has agreed to pick up the labor costs, leaving us with, in all likelihood, a small amount to take from the General Operating Fund. A debt of gratitude also to Mr Robert Dolan who continued to remind us that a roof would be necessary.
