Students from the University of Connecticut's Orthodox Christian Fellowship held its Annual Fall Clean-up at Holy Trinity on Sunday, October 18. Students, along with the faithful from Holy Trinity, stayed late into the afternoon to spruce the inside and grounds of our church. What started as a one-time clean up nearly a decade ago, has grown into an annual OCF- driven event.
"The OCF students are a tremendous blessing to our community," host pastor V. Rev. Marc Vranes said. "They have enriched our community by their weekly presence and their Christian witness to serve. The group remains an inspiration to every person who attends to Holy Trinity."
The weekend of October 23-24, 2-15, Holy Trinity will be hosting the 52nd Diocese of New England Annual Assembly. We were motivated this year to present the church and grounds in such a way that our Diocesan Hieararch (Archbishop NIKON), Clergy, Delegates, and Observers would see our parish in the most positive light possible.
Near the end of today's clean-up, a Molibien was served in front of the New England Diocese Mother of God icon which has resided in our community since October, 2014.
The Holy Trinity community also thanks one of its most faithful parishioners, Mrs Bessie Liapes (Mama's Pizza, Willimantic, CT), who sent over pizza for our entire community to enjoy today during Coffee Hour.
